  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
Need to replace two Turbos on my 8V92TI's. Turbo housing "lip" where clamp connects it to exhaust collector/mixer is corroded.

Any recommended suppliers - no core returns as my location makes core return economically unfeasible.

Dieselpro has "NEW" ones online- but they can't confirm country of manufacture- I'm not comfortable with that- Any comments?

Agkits.. got 2 new, no core, slightly more than rebuild

Try derek at east coast diesel

AKA Avenger.

Thanks. I checked but they only have series 60 turbos.

Btw- this is the condition of the lip or flange I referenced.

Wrong East Coast Diesel.

Post a part number I'll see what I can find.

I show part number to be 465030-9007 from my last purchase ( Its a Garrett I believe)

RPM Diesel in Ft Lauderdale has only one in stock at the moment, so I prefer a source where I can ship all items together, if possible.

Have you checked with any local welders? May be able to grind the flange off and weld a new? Not even sure if this is possible? But, I would imagine that if the flange is that bad, the internal clearances are off as well.

Curious how it got that bad, was there some saltwater coming back into it? Or just old and tired?

I've tried several sources and it looks like none of the distributors I work with have any stock and Garrett is 8 weeks lead time.

I don't know if you're looking to wait that long. Sorry we can't come up with something better right now.

Thanks for the effort. I’m still searching for one. Hope this isn’t a sign of parts availability to come!

Rpm diesel is searching for the other.

Has anyone used the “Dieselpro” new ones? They may be Chinese- not sure of this for turbo- the failure of which can ha e dire consequences.

It should be on the tag that is attached to one of the rocker covers. Otherwise, any DD dealer can get it from your engine serial number.

Thank you everyone.

RPM Diesel in Ft Lauderdale came through for me as usual. I'll get both units shipped to me next week.

After a boatless Christmas, I'm glad to see this moving forward.

I feel your pain. We bought Benedetto at the end of October, used it twice then took it out of service for maintenance. Risers, transmission seals and such. Did a sea trial the week before Christmas and things weren’t right. The plan now is a sea trial Monday/Tuesday next week. It’s just killing us to have missed all of this time running her. Not to mention the fact this is our first Hatteras and large boat so we not only want the time on her but need the time.

Hope you get sorted out soon as well. The Hatt 60MY is a nice boat! Enjoy.

Finally got both turbos installed today, plus I have to redo both risers as they showed signs of small leaks and the flanges needed work.

What was the cost?

The turbos costed $1310 each plus I had to pay the core charge of $136 each as I can't return cores effectively from my location. Labour cost isn't directly comparable to the US, but I removed and installed side by side with a regular mechanic.
