Hatteras Model
32' FLYBRIDGE FISHERMAN (1983 - 1987)
Do any of you have a good source for new throttle cables? I have a 32' Hat Flybridge and need to install new cables because the old ones are getting stiff. Not even sure how long they should be but I'm sure I have Morse controls as probably all of them had from factory.

You need to disconnect both ends and push/pull the cable before you condemn them. I tightened up all the loose stuff on the flybridge and now mine are so hard that I'm affraid of breaking the levers off. I need to judisciuosly loosen the stuff until they feel right again! The red morse
33C cables are teflon lined and rarely fail. DO NOT OIL THEM !!! ws

IF you need new cables (you may not) call Rob Panish at Panish Controls in Connecticut. They are great to deal with and they make their own cables. The Hatteras factory can also tell you the length of all the cables in the boat, assuming you have not repowered or changed anything.

The other great thing about Panish is that he can tell you exactly how to set up cable controls, he is a genius on this stuff.

Try Sams Marine. I got shift cables from them.

The length is written on the jacket of the older Morse Cables within about 3 ft of one of the ends. I installed new ones about a year ago and they had no length markings.

Sam's Marine (this website) has the correct cables and knows which fit your boat, plus we then support the guys that make this Hatt Forum available to us free.
