Well, I finally bit the bullet and bought new electronics for the boat. I've never been a big fan of Simrad, and the EVO2 system that came on the 45C I bought last December did not change my opinion substantially. It's not terrible, but not great. So, with a great deal of help from Scott (Boatsb) here on the site, I put together a nice replacement system from Furuno. I just took delivery on a pair of 12" TZT3 MFDs, the DFF3D sonar, 25kw 6' open array radar, Icom VHF and various ancillary devices. Scott is quite knowledgeable and provided exceptional support in configuring the system. His pricing was the best I found, and I priced around. Apparently Scott did some sort of big purchase and has more of the 12" TZT3 MFDs on hand, so if you're in the market, I'd suggest you give him a shout. I'll be removing the old system soon if the wx holds up here in CT, so if any one is interested in a good working system at a discount, drop me a pm.

Yes, I'd also like to know why Scott is banned from posting here.

I've met Scott on a few occasions and I talk to him quite a bit. As far as I'm concerned, he's a stand up guy and offers huge amounts of his time to help fellow boaters out with electrical questions, etc.

I purchased a Victron system from him and he offered to help me install it. His prices were better than anything I found, but his help was in-valuable.

If there is actually a ban on the forum, I vote to have it removed so we can all share in his knowledge and assistance.

Apparently the moderator has to approve every one of his posts. After I mentioned it here, he must have approved of the one that shows at post #2. It all seems very silly to me. Scott helps many of us here and should be able to post freely. I'd love to know the reasons why he's "banned".
