I just replaced my old Cal Pump with the March brand pump as suggested by HOF here and by Sam's for my heat/AC raw water flow. The Cal had popped off of its rubber mounts (tech installed) in a big sea and when it did, the press fit came apart with the pump spewing its internal bath of oil all over. 3 hours to clean up all that.
But the new pump is "in there" and majorly bolted down. I have it "through bolted" to the plywood platform with 4 of 1/4-20 SS x 1 1/2" bolts, with SS thread locker nuts. I also have SS fender washers above and below over rubber washers and mounted the pump over 1/8" thick rubber pads. I think I could almost pull the boat with this installation, but one less worry, I trust!
Just a note for the record...
