  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' EXTENDED DECKHOUSE (1983 - 1988)
They won't ship it. I don't understand why. They claim is has to do with Hazmat, but anyone can ship UPS Hazmat as long as its declared and you pay the extra fee.

So, is anyone willing to stop by the FTL office of Sams and pick it up and ship it to me? I will pay the associated costs and something for your time. We're about ready to sea trial after this repower and then comes the "make it pretty" part. We've rebuilt much of the cabinetry that had to come out to get the engines in/out and need some wood finish to get that completed.

Any help would be appreciated. Just send me a PM and we'll see if we can work something out.

Or, if anyone has some that they don't need and its in usable condition, I'll buy it from you.

Thanks

Sky, where is this stuff in the online parts catalog? I could not find it.

Part Number: 95753
Part Description: 704C Wood Oil
Unit of Measure: Qt.
Price: $31.75

I think this is it, Jim. Ed told me what was in it one time, you might be able to mix it up yourself. I don't know why they won't ship it either

interior? Ed told me they didn't have the oil any longer and only a varnish that requires future sanding if a second coat is applied. I need some for a couple of repaired places with new teak veneer!

I can't wait for this seatrial, I bet this is going to be the fastest 53 ever. Those Yanmars Gregory Boat Co. put in the owner's 53 were only 500-something horsepower, and that one did 24 knots.

There are some places in the interior of my boat which could use help, after 51 years, although overall the interior is surprisingly good.

Thanks for sharing. I have a couple of spots on my Honey Do list.

Earlier this year I pulled the wallpaper in the fwd head and found the wood behind it was very much intact veneer.

I cleaned it as best I could, sanded it with 220, and then by hand with a gray scotchbrite pad.

4 coats of Watco Danish Teak Oil later, and it looks the same as the rest of the boat.

Im gonna try some of this on the inside of one of the closets before I get crazy and do all the wood thru out my boat.
