Call the Jack Martin agency in Annapolis and ask them about the Markel policy offered through the Marine Trawler Owners Association (MTOA). Membership is $60 and the policy is better than the regular Markel policy.

jack martin just got me a quote from geico, it was lower then markel by a bunch. 3900ish for 136,000 policy, markel was 5100ish

I'll start making calls on Monday. I know it's tough finding ins on a big old boat so I wanted to see who folks here use.

Insurance premiums make little sense. 3 to 4% premiums on an older boat worth $150k but only 0.5% (yes half a percent) on a $3M boat permanently based in Miami...

Im currently Merkel limited to VA north. Used the local boat broker who provided two options last year. BoatUSA also is an option on the east coast.

I've had exceptional luck with the Gowrie Group out of CT. Their number is 860-399-5945.
They are very responsive and customer oriented. They put me with AIG one year and New Hampshire Insurance another year, but they handle all the interface. Prices were fair and a claim for storm damage to an enclosure was handled super fast and fairly.
