This impeller is on it's 2nd season, so it MUST have some life left in it! Who wants to take a shot at putting it back together?

The 'qualified mechanics' that installed it used a lot of goop on the o-ring, and some of it was still on the wear plate.

New wear plate, cam and impeller going in....I guess I should do the other side while I'm at it.

So, do you think I got it all out, or should I pull apart the intercooler?

holy cow, what a train wreck! the only way none of that went downstream is if it had no water to push it.
but i think the pieces are small enough to fit in the mechanics mouth, if not use some of the goo from the wear plate.

good luck,

jim

I have been wanting to pull my whole pumps off and give them a workover. Is there any tricks to removing or re-installing? Do I just unbolt it and remove?

Thanks, Ned

Just unbolt it and take it off. Its a gear drive and comes off easily.

You'll need a new gasket when you replace it as otherwise you'll leak oil from that place.....
