Need boat trailer for 11K lb 31' Twin Diesel Inboard

I need to move an 11k lb 31' center console fish/dive boat with twin turbodiesel inboards that I just agreed to buy from Georgia to Louisiana. I was wondering if anyone here knows of a trailer that I could possibly rent, buy or even borrow?

THANKS!

Hey Byron,

Give me a call. I think I can find a trailer for you, but it might be cheaper to have somebody else transport it for you. I know a guy who can do it pretty cheap. I used him last March to move a 310 Sundancer with twin inboards from NC to TN.

Oh yeah, by the way, I'm baaack!!! Did you miss me???

I knew you were back this morning when I looked at the forums and almost every thread on the whole first page had "FREEEBIRD" as the last responder! I knew you were franticly trying to catch up and respond to all posts made since you left! It has been a little quiet around here, kinda like the old days! ;)

Trailer prices are CRAZY these days! They want $5-6k for a new trailer to carry my 31' twin diesel inboard boat. I have quotes from $1800-2500 to transport it here, so I may have to go that route.

I see you get up early but you must not be at work yet b/c I just called and got your machine. I'll try again later and see what your thoughts are.

I found that prices can vary a huge amount amongst the different haulers; if it's an efficient route for them and you come along at the right time with your request, you get a deal. If not, you get hosed. Be patient and call a bunch of haulers if you go that way.

I had to move a 28' Cape Dory inboard from Shelburne, VT to Portland, ME one time, and I had quotes ranging from $550 to $2200. It really helps if you can at least be a little flexible on the dates.

You could have summed all that up by simply admitting you missed me! Looks like you boys didn't have too much to talk about without the mouth of the south.

Hey, I got an idea for getting your boat from Savannah to New Orleans. I'll pick it up and drive it to ya if you'll buy the fuel and pay marina, restaurant, and hotel costs. I'll even buy my own beer and cut through 'Chobee to save you money!

Yeh, but the MOTS 's gotta pay for the "tune ups" :D

I may be able to help as well. The dealership I work with has a trailer, and we have a guy that does towing....holds a CDL, tows RV's around the country for a living, does a lot of our deliveries. I'd be glad to check with him and the dealership for availability and pricing....it was 1.75/mile last time I asked.
