Normally I have no trouble getting the bulbs I need for that Hatt. HOWEVER, in this case I cannot read a single thing on the teeeeeeny bulb for the blower motor lights and the bilge pump lights on my 53MY. The only thing I can read is 14V but none of the identifying numbers. The bulb base is approx 1/8" in diameter and is a screw base the glass is just slightly wider. The entire bulb is around 3/4" long.

I looked up 14v bulbs but can't find anything that I can positively identify as being the same. They are the only bulbs on the boat (I just discovered) that I don't have a box of spares for.

Anybody have a number for this bulb?

If its 12 or 24 vdc, take it to the motor parts store... or call SAMs for the 34.99 special LOL ws

Mike,
I have a box on the boat. It may have the numbers on it. I can check this weekend.

Thanks Sky - I even tried a magnifying glass and still can only get the "14v" out of it...

George - I looked at the Galco site; that's it! (pic is about 10x life size!)

I'll order a slew of 'em (however many a "slew" is).

Thanks!

Or.... You could order them from SAMS, who pays for this forum.

Yes, I could. I order a good bit of stuff from them but I must admit I don't think of them re light bulbs. Dalco wants 15 bucks shipping for 10 light bulbs. The total weight of the 10 bulbs is not enough to even be noticed in the palm of your hand. MOuser wants 2x + as much for the bulbs but their shipping is less and comes out about the same.

Sams doesn't show those bulbs in there listings though I realize they may have them anyway.

That's a good point captddis, I always default to Sam's but I didn't see them on there either. They don't bloat the shipping and handling, so often on stuff like this their total price is very competitive.

Edit: Wait, Sam's does have them!

You know sometimes its best just to call Steve if you miss it like Mike and i did.

I find that many of the items that Sam's has are not on the online parts listings. You have to call to know for sure.

Ordered the bulbs and a few other things from Sams, thanks for reminding me. As I said, I had never thought about them for lightbulbs!

Got sticker shock on one thing - the bulb that goes in the overhead fixture in the 53MY passageway. It's a 34v 25W tubular incandescent...25 bucks and change! The other overheads in our 53MY are the same fixture but with a nicely finished square wood spacer that moves the lens down so that a regular round (cheap) 32V bulb will fit. I don't know if the spacers are oem or by a PO but it is not in the passageway, probably because it reduces headroom by 2".

I converted all of those to 34v halogen bulbs. Much cheaper than the tubes that are no longer made. Sams has the last remaining stock of those tubes.

Sounds like a good idea. Where do you get 34v Halogen bulbs?

Next time try topbulb.com in Chicago. Use the "Find a Product" feature in the top bar.

NO ONE has those 32v tubes. Only Sams.

"NO ONE has those 32v tubes. Only Sams."

Mike (at Sams) told me that they contract a bulb maker to produce those 25W bulbs and they have to order a minimum of 100 at a time. I asked if a 50W version was available (I'd like more light in the passageway). He said that they would have to contract for the minimum of 100 50W to do so. Don't see enough interest for that...

I find that the 20w halogen puts out much more light than the 25w tube.
