Need a captain. What to know?

Looks like we’ll need a captain for the last week of July, from the Charleston, SC area down to St Augustine, fL.
First time needing a captain. What info to ask for (other than ‘are you a captain?). Want someone with experience in the areas. But what do I ‘need’ to ask and know before hiring.
Any help and/or recommendations would be appreciated.

To the OP, you had best be hitting me up if you want that time slot. I have another guy wanting me to move a Ferretti from FLL to Solomons, MD (hear that Jim?) as soon as they get an engine issue addressed. Then there’s a guy with a 58MY that may or may not wait for me to finish this trip. It’s been a crazy year so far.

I’ve been waiting on that Ferretti for two months now. Seems they’re having problems getting parts. Just let me know when you’re ready, and we’ll see where things stand. I’m very accustomed to last minute departures. I did send you a PM with my contact info.

Finished up moving that 53MY with five great guys from Mathews, VA to Jacksonville Saturday evening and will be flying back to FLL for the Ferretti this Thursday. Going to Solomons MD with the new owners aboard but haven't yet determined how they want to make the run. Fast and furious or slow and steady. I'm guessing a combination of the two, but we'll see.

With that in mind, OP, let me know when you know. As for you, Dr. Jim, that may be too far for us to make that dinner connection.
