Must be one of the very first 53MY's ever made. Nice looking boat by the pictures.

Its hull #1. I went and looked, and took another 53 Hatt owner with me. IMO (and his) she's in "salvage" condition.

Eric,

Describe "salvage" condition please.

Walt

Eric.....

Also How much money would it take to bring her to like new condition

Mailman Jim

Walter, PM sent.

Jim, Like new condition? Half a Mil would probably cover it.

you can give her a boob job, a face lift, tummy tuck and lipo, but she'll never be 20 again.LOL goes for women and boats.

Wow, that IS ugly.

Well, you wouldn't have believed the lines to get on her at the Powerboat show on Sunday. No shoes, food, drinks, please.

"Jane! Stop this crazy thing! Jane!"

Fugly. Port lights were removed because of leaks so who in their right mind thinks picture windows in the hull sides are a good idea?

I ran a fairly new 48 Meridian a couple weeks ago. Nice interior but what a pig to run. It reminds you of how good our boats are.

The funny thing is for a half a mil you couldn't buy much new in a quality boat in 45', forget about 53" and a hat.

JM

You actually can't afford to accept a boat like that as a gift, unfortunately. Even acquiring her for free you would be rapidly upside down. It's a shame.

The topsides are larger than the hull! They should have keep the name Bayliner as it truly reflects where these boats belong.

But it is most of the boats today that build spaceships instead of well designed, well thought out boats. That can be serviced and go for decades without structural problems. You know that not only will the hull windows leak, but the coring on the hull sides will be like a sponge.

I can see the owners screaming at some poor mechanic because he can't explain the speed loss and sluggish handling. Maybe it is planned obsolesense?

Is it possible that everyone that buys one of these abominations that pass as gasp.....real boats is really that new at it or really really dumb? It seems to me that the smart high volume boat building companies all gravitate to the Nike look. Why do you think? Is it possible that it's because that's what sells?

I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder - it's just that most of us on this forum prefer the classic more practical lines of a couple of decades ago, myself included. It's going to be interesting to see how these new Nike's hold up in the resale market in a few more years. New styles usually take a long time to "grow" on me and perhaps in another 20 years I may actually like the look of the 2010 boats, but it won't matter as I will be closing in on 100 YO.
