Hatteras Model
36' CONVERTIBLE-Series I (1969 -1977)
Last year my wife Nancy and I spent 7 weeks aboard our series one 36C (Feb/Mar) cruising the ICW south from MD to SC and back. Kicked the snow off the day we left home. Had a great time, met a lot of nice folks, and it was warm enough to boat again when we got back. This year we are thinking of moving the Baby Grand somewhere in NC that we can drive to and use the boat in the months that are a little too cold here in MD. We run the boat year round, but don't get much use in Jan/Feb. Working up to getting Nancy to Fla and the Bahamas for the whole winter next year. :D Although both retired, Nancy is doing volunteer work a few days a week and we are not yet completely mobile (next year). Anywhere from Beaufort/Morehead City to Wrightsville and in between would work. We like that whole strech of the ICW, and would enjoy meeting some of you members who live in that area. Need a place we can feel good about leaving her for a week or so at a time that offers a decent winter rate. Any thoughs? Best Regards, Bob K

Have a slip in the heart of Atlantic Beach, NC. That is across the ICW from Moorehead City, NC. Not normally for rent but I don't use it in the monthes you're talking about. If you are interested let me know. I'm sure we can come up with a rate.

I live in New Bern as do a couple other forum members. Not down to where you want to be however in N.C. PM me if I can be of help.

Thanks Dan! We like Federal Point Yacht Club in Carolina Beach, NC. It's a very nicely maintained club, deep water, convenient to restaurants, and a 15 minute Walk to the beach. This is approx. 10 miles south of Wrightsville Beach. The general area as you know is at the terminus of I-40.

Please send me a PM should you desire more info (and some 20+ interesting Forum members to assist you in bringing the boat south). :D
