Does anyone know the Current Diesel Fuel Rate in Nassau or Hurricane Hole?
Also has anyone heard of any Spring or Early Summer Predictions on fuel costs? Last I heard it should remain steady without the normal summer increases but I was wondering if anyone else had any feedback.

Thanks

Tony

Current forecast are for prices to drop a bit more and level off. Oil futures are in the mid $30 but OPEC countries are starting to see the impact of low cost oil while US shale production declines. So the short answer is don't know what we'll be paying but it shouldn't change drastically barring any unforeseen change that would seriosly impact oil prices.

Thanks Jack, that's what I figured. Anyone been to Nassau or Hurricane Hole lately that knows the current price? Figured I'd ask before calling over there.

Check the Explorer Charts website. Usually they are close but if not they have a good representation of where fuel will be cheaper.
http://explorercharts.com/
They have a tab on the left side of the website for dockage and fuel.

The last time we were there in '14 we tanked up across from HH at the place with the Texaco sign. It was reasonable. But then everything in Nassau is reasonable compared to the Abacos.

The online Explorer page is pretty accurate

I no longer fuel at hurricane hole... The dock is small, always packed ane you usually end up having to wait in the current.

Instead, I refuel at Harbor central, which is right next to Bay Street marina. Excellent service, helpful staff and usually the same price as Hurricane hole with a much bigger dock that can handle multiple boats.

Same with dockage... Forget overpriced, crowded atlantis or hurricne hole... Bay Street marina has better dock, better staff, better price, cheaper water :)

I'm getting a fuel delivery tomorrow as we re heading out to the Exumas next week, don't know the price yet but it s probably the cheapest fuel I Ve gotten in 8 or 9 years :) will post price.

Just paid $1.68 a gallon from the Shoreline Oil truck plus $0.10 a gal for the marina. Without tax.

Cheapest fuel in 10 years!!

Nice, great price.

As far as Bay Street Marina, is it safe to leave the marina after dark to go out to dinner? The one thing I do like about Hurricane Hole or Atlantis is the fact you can walk at night to eat or hang out for a beer without feeling like you'll be mugged on the way back to the boat.

Bay Street marina has a couple of bars and restaurant on premises but otherwise no, I woudlnt walk out after dark. So if tahts something you want then yet, paradise island is a better choice.

But for fuel, it doesn't matter... Much easier at harbor central

Thanks, heading over there on a clients boat after the New Year but planning on doing a 2 week Family Exuma Cruise in June. It will be two families with my 2 children and 3 others so if it's not to much trouble when I know it's a go for sure maybe you can make some suggestions on things to do. Planning on not going any further south then Staniel Cay. I've fished the Sound many many times but looking for fun family stuff. Good private beach or two swimming and snorkeling. Kids already said they wanted to see the Pigs but other than that we're entirely open.

Quick note, we'll be on our 45 Hatteras with 4.5 Draft

Thanks Again for the quick replies.

We're planning to head over late May for a couple of months. This will be our first time after
threatening to do it the past two years and having to cancel at the last minute. I'll be looking for advice as well.

Was that here in Miami, or in Nassau?

Lol. Shorline is the truck that delivers to DKM and Montys... That was at montys

Nassau is 3.60 right now according to explorer charts. Will probably back down from 10 to 9kts on this upcoming trip so we can do the round trip and Exuma charter without having to refuel :)

Yeah, I knew Shoreline from here, but being in response to a fuel price in Nassau, or so I interpreted, I had to ask and confirm. I think I'll go put a couple of dinosaurs on the rotisserie next week. :D
