  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
I've got a pair of 6 1/2 sq. ft. fins ready to go to a new home. I'll be replacing with 3's. They're in perfect shape.

Asking Price?

I too have a set of 6 SqFt fins but want 9 SqFt...willing to buy or trade

Where were you guys when I needed you last winter? You should specify what system you have. Also, per the other thread, going from 6 to 9's is a huge jump. Have you validated with Naiad that this is appropriate to your boat, system and use?

What model is the system they were on and how much $$

I have SEABRACE alluminum fins on my 58 Series I MY any thoughts on retrofitting with the Niad Fins??

I the PO left zincs off them and they are deeply pitted I would like to have glass fins and wonder if anyone has done this?

Could you just fiberglass over the old fins? It's not like anyone will be looking at them. Save a lot of money!

I doubt you can interchange them. I was searching around for a Naiad fin last winter, and nothing else would fit on my stems; ABT, Vosper, Wesmar as I recall.

Interesting suggestion Jim, Thanks. I suppose i could have some closed cell foam coring shaped around the aluminum that is there and epoxy it.

Would be interested to see design drawings and cross sections for glass fins to perhaps loft from as a template.

Just what I need... another project!

Sorry to hijack the thread.

I would think that one soft bump or a little intrusion of water into the edge would be enough to pop them off, but I'm not an engineer and only slept in a Motel 6 last night.

George: I have a Westport 90 and model number 254 Naiad with 6 sq ft fins. This model will take 9 sq ft fins. Boat has capablity of 15 knots and 6's might well work at that speed. But I run at 10 and they need larger fins per Naiad.

So I am going to have to buy new fins at $10,000 plus unless someone has a pair for me to trade or buy.
