Good Morning All:

Being on the backside of winter, here in MD, I'm thinking about the projects I'd like to complete this spring. Although I have nary a complaint about my 52 Convertible, I hate the placement of the Raw water intakes. Their location makes winterizing much more difficult than it needs to be, and makes an emergency shut-off, just about impossible.

Does anyone have any experience with moving these? I'm wondering if it's possible to pipe to a different location, without re-penetrating and repairing the hull. I'm pretty sure there is an ABYC standard that requires the seacock to be located right at the intake.

Anyway, has anyone hated this location enough to move the intakes? If so, I'd love to hear your comments, and advice of possible locations.

Thanks,
Vince
