Is there a trick to getting rid of the moss that grows in the window track?

When I bought the boat, it had some moss in the track of both salon window tracks/frames. I did everything I could, brushed it with soap, scraped with small pic, even pressure washed, and minimized it but it keeps coming back.

Is there a known spray, or something else, that will kill it can keep it gone?

I had the same problem. I tried everything and finally used 50/50 bleach and water. Did 3 applications and then rinsed it throughly. Rinse it multiple times and use a wet dry vacuum cleaner to suck out the moisture. It’s now been seven years and it has not re-occurred. If you have a lot of condensation buildup on your windows that drips down inside you may have a little bit more of a maintenance issue than I.

Just replace the fuzzies.

We had those on our 43. Upset a whole darn ecosystem when you blast them out of there with the hose nozzle. Was very satisfying.

I had that on my '79 43C. It was the only thing that kept the windows from leaking. Don't mess with it.

Thanks, the bleach was the only things that I haven't tried yet. My windows don't leak or have any condensation, so I'm hoping it'll just kill it and move on.

LOL - this was a serious thought of mine, but I cant stand looking at the garden growing when I'm standing on the dock.
