That was a great phone in it's time, very rugged (I ran a phone distributor and service provider in a prior life)
Please don't put it in the trash, all that stuff has recoverable metals including gold. Send it to the local electronic recycling center or donate it to one of the many charities that take phones for various causes. The ones they can't activate they will recycle and get a few bucks.

It's worth what someone will pay. Not the ask. I'm sure the idea of a working classic sounds good but you have to be a dedicated collector for that to make sense at $300.
