Mixing oil brands

Any reason why I can't mix Delo 100 40 WT with NAPA Valvoline 40 WT? I have a few gallons left of the Delo from previous change and I recently switched to Valvoline.

Might throw oil analysis off if you do them. Otherwise I don't think the engines care.

I asked this question of my DD mechanic Tom Hug. He suggested that all the same brand oil be used at an oil change, but that a different brand could be used to top up during the season.

OT, but Eric, how is Tom doing, professionally and personally? What a great tech, teacher and person. Haven't been up there to see him in over three years.
