Mini Rendezvous Destin/Pensacola

I just wanted to post a note to the effect that I'll be in Navarre Beach with the family for a week beginning October 18. I've already made plans with Traveler 45C to meet up and have dinner around Destin among other things.

Greg was a true friend in driving over to Panama City to ride along with me back to Pensacola Beach on ole' Freebird last summer, so I owe him a decent meal at a minimum. Same goes for the member (whose name I've forgotten) who helped me out in Panama City. Karl gave me some good advice on my trip up and Greg claims to know where he lives in Destin, so maybe he'll join us too. If not, does anybody around there want to help us roll his yard?

Seriously, it's always fun meeting up with HOF members for the first or tenth time. If you're interested, speak up on this thread or shoot me a PM.

It would be good to see you again LargeWilliam. We'll be coming in sometime Saturday afternoon on the 18th. Nothing says we all have to get together at one time and place, so I'll just play it by ear based on everybody else's schedule. After all, I'll be on vacation.

No doubt I'll have to take the boy to the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola again since he was only 5 months old the first time. Outside that, I'm pretty much wide open.

Can somebody help me out with the member's name who met Steve and I at Baypoint in Panama City? I'll read through 20,000 posts if I have to, but I'd sure like to have him join us. The cell that I had on that trip totally crapped out on me, and I lost a bunch of names and numbers.

Thanks Jim, I had forgotten the name of the thread and also forgotten Scott had posted another one on the trip after Steve did.

Going back and re-reading that sure did bring back a lot of memories, and I did find the member I was looking for. Benjy aka No Hurry came over to Baypoint with a power saw which enabled us to cut an inspection cover for the leaking shaft rudder. That had actually been recently repacked according to the PO, but the additional pressure caused by countering that single engine run obviously made it leak.

Benji also loaded me up in his car and took me to an auto parts place to pick up a few things. That was one heck of a trip, and the support I received from members of this forum was overwhelming and very much appreciated. Thanks again to all of you who physically helped along with those who took the time to call.

Made it to Navarre Beach yesterday. Bad news, Traveler 45C has back problems again and is flat on his back. I talked to him yesterday and he's looking at going for an MRI. As many of you know, Greg has had back problems for quite some time now, so say a little prayer for him.
