At the Model show in Toledo there is a guy that has a V8 engine that he sells for around $1.100. bucks. It is smaller than this one. He has a car and a motorcycle. It is really neet. I can't see a reason for owing one but they sure are an interesting achievement. You need some pretty good equipment to make one of those.

I wonder how well it would fit in the new Chevy Volt, if it A) ever comes to market and B) GM lasts that long?

Anyone who has ever worked on machine tools such as a Bridgeport milling machine or a precision lathe like Hardinge will really appreciate the amount of time and effort, not to mention skill that was necessary to build those little engines. The fact that someone actually sells one for $1,100 says to me that the builder doesn't mind working for about 25 cents an hour. He or She are truly rare folks. I'm impressed.
