We, or more correctly, our boat rode out Irma at Plantation Yacht Harbor in Islamorada. As Pascal noted, Irma sucked the water out of Florida Bay to such an extent that we, that is our boat, sat so deep in the mud that when the water returned, the mud line was above our boot stripe. From pictures at the height of the storm, the line of boats along the bulwark looked as if they were ducking down to stay out of the wind.
