Master state room Mirrors

Has anyone removed mirrors in their master stateroom that are glued to the bulkhead? If so, how, and how much damage was left from doing it?

On our 1987 45C a huge mirror in the master stateroom had come detached from the wall, by itself. It was only held from completely falling off by the Honeywell AC control on one side. The wall behind had lines of black glue, what looked like window sealing caulk. We did not to try to remove that adhesive and to avoid having to deal with refinishing the wall, we just had a local carpenter reattach the mirror.

May be a good place to have a mural vynal wrapped on top of it now that I think about it.

I removed mine with a heat gun. Heated and scraped the remaining glue and then lightly sanded and refinished the veneer. You wouldn't know it was ever there.
