Marquipt Tender-Lift up/down issues

Marquipt Tender Lift 1000-1500# capacity on recently purchased Hatteras 61 my. Remote will only raise cable no matter which button i push up or down. Lift is currently in down position and cable is hooked to latch on flybridge and taunt, I cannot release. How can I release cable in order to release pressure and raise boom to inspect for repairs? Have removed rear cover and don't see any obvious way to release cable... TIA!!!!!!

Start with the remote. Open it up, check the down switch and try bypassing it. Many davit issues I ve had over the years were caused by the remote.

Problem solved…. Must hold remote down button Dow for a couple of seconds before it reacts and begins to lower…. When button is released there is a momentary change in direction to up so when I initially pressed and saw no movement I released and cable tightened each time…

The momentary pause in the down mode is a safety feature.
