Marquipt 1,000 lb Lift

I didn't want to hijack the other thread. I have been very happy with the performance of my Marquipt Lift, however, the "piston" is getting severely corroded. In the Spring, I would like to address this issue. Please let me know what would be the best remedy for the issue (repair/replace)? Any idea how expensive this part would be and would someone with moderate skills be able to fix?

Call Marquipt in FL or check their website. Those guys have been very helpful to me on several different issues. I'll bet the part isn't cheap but I bet you can repair it yourself. Probably best accomplished off the boat on a bench.
