  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
37' CONVERTIBLE (1977 - 1982)
My galleymaid pump works fine but has lost it's bladder (waterlogged) and the pump is cycling too often. I figure I will add a shurflo or jasco in line but what size? 1 liter? How do you figure?
Thanks
Hal

You don't need a marine unit. Hatteras used the small tanks by Well Xtrol that you can get at Grainger. I think American Tank also makes them in a small size.

The bigger the tank, the less the pump cycles.

He's right. The bigger the better.

Many of those tanks had a tire pump valve on the "air" end. Maybe yours needs to be pumped up? If the bladder leaks, you need a new tank. Our 53MY has about a 3 gallon captive air tank.

Pressure accumulators are pretty cheap at home depot/lowes.

I have used the Grainger and Home Depot accumulator for years. I have never had a bladder failure. Mine always developed a pin hole leak in the tank itself.

As suggested in a previous reply, if it's not leaking water out, try adding air.

Under no circumstance install an accumulator that does not have an internal rubber bladder. The small Jabsco units are a complete fraud.
