  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
52' CONVERTIBLE (1983 - 1990)
Since we bought our 1985 52 C about a year ago we have been busy knocking off a project inside every now and then. The salon couch is currently out being re-covered. I was sitting and staring at the sb panel that's normally partially obscured by the couch. Knowing the port side has lots of storage underneath the windows I figured sb most have a least some useable space.

When I removed the panel I realized by rerouting the ac duct to the top of the compartment rather than leaving it laying on the floor we could pick up an approximately 2'x4'x2' of good storage space.

We are fabbing the door now but here is a shot of work in progress.

Second photo is master stateroom wooden hatch frame. I noticed after 35 years of service the wire screen was pretty nasty and its hard to clean. I removed the frame and the screen from within and had a router/groove the underside. I then had a new screen made to fit for $8. Now if it needs cleaning i just drop the frame down remove the duct tape, pull screen out, clean and reinstall.

Not a fan of the tape. They have catches that would work great there.

ha ha tape is temp i'll buy a catch next trip to home depot. Of course the only time it is visible is when you lower the frame down to remove the screen.

Not to mention a little more flow. On Aslan, that’s the parts department.

Along those lines, I just pulled the salon’s aft air handler for replacement. Never seen so much black mold before. So after cleaning and epoxy coating the interior, I found something I’ve been hunt’n for five winters-the source of that winter draft. Good day.
