Boater remains missing; search continues
Posted: Monday, December 10th, 2007 at 12:32 pm
Searchers are continuing efforts today to recover the body of a 27-year-old Miami man who fell off his sailboat while sailing with his wife Friday in the St. Johns River.

Cesar Martin Montano was attempting to refuel his 27-foot sailboat with a gas can while the boat was under way just south of the Shands Bridge near Jacksonville. Lt. George Pottorf of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said he was not wearing a life jacket when he fell overboard.

Officials from several agencies searched throughout the weekend with no result.

Montano and his wife, Jennifer Montano, were on a 12-day trip that began in Miami. They were headed for Welaka from Jacksonville when the incident happened.

Not to be an SOB but don't refuel while under way unless you have a transfer pump its just not safe.

My prayers and good wishes to his family in hope of a good outcome.
