  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
37' CONVERTIBLE (1977 - 1982)
It has been several weeks since I fired up the Top Dog. After I looked at all the gauges, I noticed that the starboard altinator was redwing 12 volts, port was reading 14. I hit the parell switch and the starboard showed 14. Moments later I noticed that all the gushes on the starboard side were out. Maybe someone can tell me where the fuse is for the starboard side gushes. I'm guessing in the panel behind the starboard motor. 0n the original problem, starboard voltage gauge readeding 12 volts after start, should it be higher than 12volts if it's charging?

I havea 84 36c and just got finnished with the same problem. The ignition fuse is a 30A and it it located in the battery switch pannel. There will be 6 fuses top left is the one on my boat. Turnes out there is a short in a 12v line running who knows where into a main harness. By bypassing this line problem solved. so far nothing else stopped working. Its good to have your wiring digram but trust me it is a pain to deal with. One thing you didnt say was wether you can start and stop the starboard motor.

The shut down button would not work, so I had to use the air shut off to kill the engine.
Thanks for the info. Should I get more than 12 volts on my voltage gauge. I was thing 12v indication would be battery only and alternated inop.

In my situation stop button nor start would work and had no reading on the volt meter. It was all dead.

On my boat power for gauges and start / stop comes from the key switch. Check to see if you have power on the Batt side of the key switch. If you dont, it is probably a fuse. If you do, it is probably the switch.
