Looking for an 8V-53 engine

If you know someone who might be repowering I am in search of a good rebuildable 8-53 Detroit Diesel engine. I am located in NJ but will travel a reasonable distance.
Any help would be appreciated.

There are some in yards in Florida but many sit outside and rot. Boatsb, member here, is on the east coast of FL where most are located. He is in the business so may have a lead for you.

I've got a set of 6v92's if you want to swap out both.

You can try T&S Marine, in Crisfield, MD. They used to work on a lot of DDs and they might have an 8v-53 sitting around. Also, look in Boats & Harbors, there are a lot of used engine resellers in their classifieds, and someone is bound to have an 8v-53 core.
