I'm looking for some very obscure parts for my 1969 Chris Craft Roamer refit. The PO removed the center windshield and replaced it with a piano hinge and some 3/8" plexiglass. I need to go back to the original center window, which measures 46.5" across. The old aluminum extrusions are, near as I can tell, obsolete and unavailable new.

I'm looking for a source for the center aluminum window frame. I had the exact same style of opening window on my 1967 52' Connie and my current 42' Commander. So it seems my best bet is to find a late '60s large cruiser that's being parted out. I suspect there isn't much demand for these window frames, so even a nearly bare shell might still have the window. The center window on my Commander is too narrow, though, so I'm specifically looking for 46' and larger Chris Craft cruisers in the boneyards.

If anybody sees or knows of one, please let me know.

Thanks,

Another possibility might be to make this up from preformed FRP structural moldings and then paint it to look like aluminum.

Have you posted this on the Chris Craft forums? I know the Commander Forum is quite active.

Yup, Sky. Just thought I'd cast a wider net. ;-)

Jim, the original window frames have an integral hinge for the center window. The top of the main frame extrusion has a cavity that runs the length of it that a section of the top window extrusion fits into, forming the hinge. The tolerances are pretty tight, so I'm pretty sure that only the original style extrusions will fit. I've got the main frame. What I'm looking for is just the center opening window.
