Always the bearer of good news.

Hopefully not synced to a supermoon tide.

That was this past Sunday night. Very cool watching the lunar eclipse with the family on the boat.

Look at the bright side, Krisp Christy will get to kiss Obama again

Look like Snooki's going to get a hoseing.

My best wishes for you folks up there.

The forecasters are still not sure. It's still to early. "Jack-off" has already strengthened way beyond original expectations. Sea surface temp is still 86 degrees at the storms current location.

Latest update..

Damn. That's going right up Charles Street.

4 days out, the forecast is going to move back an forth quite a bit. It's a worst case scenario for forecaster as 30 miles left or right will make a huge difference due to the shallow angle of approach to the coast

At this time of th year, the irony is that there are a bunch of boats waiting to move south because insurance underwriters restrict them from crossing either south of cape hatteras or south of Georgia... And again they r going to get hit!

Usually the GFS is wrong and the Euro models are correct more than not. I guess thats why you pay for those weather sites. I hope the Euro is right on this one. I would hate to see Christy getting fresh with Obama again.

Spoke to Tim Powell earlier. Yards are getting busy hauling boats in Coastal NC. Let's hope the storm weakens rapidly as it moves north into cooler waters. Right now she's building strength pretty rapidly. Forecast has it strengthening even more.

They better get the dredge out of OI. The inlet will be closed for good if it sinks there

Tim said the depth is down to 1.5ft. Even the CCs are having trouble getting through. Right now OI is closed to all traffic.

I just got back to Morehead city yesterday from OI. There are 2 hopper dredges waiting to go in the inlet . One big problem they can not get there they require 4 feet to start. Another dredge is comming from somewhere around Wilmington NC Southport area. To dig out so the others can start.
Yesterday morning about 6 charter boats went up to the bridge and turned back after looking. As best as i could tell i watched from the old CG station on the east side of the bridge.
The sound was grate yesterday. I had a window and took it glad i did. FYI fuel price finally hit the mark if you got a tax # 1.99 got 300 gallons yesterday. Now the darn inlet stoped up and bad weather can not win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I decided against moving Blue Note. She is at a sheltered slip in a small creek off the Whitehall Bay area. We were okay in Isabel, although the storm surge was quite high- 4 to 5 feet. This morning I put on a second set of docklines and also chafe guards, plus roped down the bridge cover. Tomorrow I will take down the aft awning and re-secure everything.

This far out, no one really knows what's going to happen. I guess we'll all find out, won't we.

I'm thinking it will weaken considerably and head further east. Next 24 hours should give a more defined track.
