Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
We own a 1979 43' Double Cabin. There is an overhead light on the hardcover of the lower helm "patio" that does not work. The prior owner says it never worked when he owned the boat either. I've tested the wires and there is no power coming to the light. I have not been able to trace the wiring back to its source, nor have I found an on/off switch on the dash or anywhere else. Can anybody help? We'd be eternally grateful.

We had a 1975 43DC, but I don't recall having a light on the back deck. Do you have a flybridge? Maybe the power is coming from up there. Is there a switch on the light fixture itself or do you think it was wired with a remote switch?

On my 53EDMY, I have all of the wiring diagrams for the whole boat. If all else fails you could call Hatteras and get a copy of the schematics and trace it down that way.

On my 1976 43 DC with a fly bridge, the fixture has a switch on it. It has a white light for in port and a red light for being underway. The starboard light breaker on the DC panel controls the light.

I have the fixture and it does have a switch. It has a white light but I am not getting pow  er to the switch. I try the wiring diagram again.
