BONN, Germany, June 5 (Reuters) - The World Bank will suggest a global levy on jet and shipping fuel in recommendations to G20 governments later this year on raising climate finance, a senior official said on Sunday.....

"We are looking at carbon emissions-based sources ... including bunker (shipping) fuels and aviation fuels, that would be internationally coordinated albeit nationally collected," said Andrew Steer, World Bank special envoy for climate change.

(The World Bank has an "envoy for climate change"???? Who ordered THAT??)

Next will be trucks, then cars, then......oh no, boats....??!!

Do not ever forget that the "world" Bank wants to be the controller of ALL world and local finance ....did they not say it was time for a world currency?? look at the disaster in the EU with the euro currency, and it's really controlled out of Brussels which would dearly love to expand authority. Beware America and Canada, the socialists are in the wings and specially the global warming nuts who cannot believe that nothing happens without human intervention and they know best, just like Obama and Nancy..look at the mess they have created, almost akin to being traitors to the cause, why can't they look back at the pioneers and see how the Country was built, not destroyed like their policies are doing...carbon taxes etc do not reduce consumption except on the backs of consumers and the economy and where does the money go ??? do all those taxes actually reduce emissions ??. If they really knew their stuff, it's global cooling is the ***** in the woodpile.

Just caught the last few seconds of an interview with a leader of the African Government, was asked the question "are you worried about China becoming a larger investor in Africa than the World Bank", WOW, your tax dollars at work and the World Bank is now an "investor", what ROI do get on that one, as well as the bucks to the UN and the IMF.

Did everyone know that the same people and advisors who caused the great recession in 08/09, are now the same people running the economy and advising the President ?? and we wonder why the economy is heading backwards into possible depression.

Dennis, it is unseemly to critique our genius' in Washington just because you "Canucks" have gone conservative and now have double our rate of growth. That's just being a smarty pants!!
