Just finished install of trim tab kit from Lenco , it was a breeze ! I highly recommend the led indicator/ retract option.
remove old tabs , I then epoxy filled old holes/ screw mounts and drilled fresh , the holes wont align anyway ( a few old screws snapped off too )
I also went with 9x36 over the original 8x36 blades. the rep said it would perform better for my boat . use 5200 to mount to transom .
prepped new metal with Pettit underwater metal kit , it contains a metal etch primer followed by a primer that insulates the metal from corrosion and electrolysis and bonds with bottom paint.
I used the metal primer then Trindad hard antifouling for the tabs ,struts and thru hulls as well. the rest of hull I used Hydrocoat SR..
there you go . an easy afternoon at the boatyard...
