Lighting in the ER is not very good. I made some fixtures for 48 SMD LED lights and am running two strings of lights off of the electronics DC electric panel on the stb side of the saloon. The lights draw <4 watts each and I am installing 10 of them using 2 of the breakers, one breaker for the fwd ER and one for the Aft ER with 5 lights on each breaker string.
One problem I had to deal with is the very small wires from the LED panels. The small wires are very fragile and the best solution I could devise was soldering 20 ga wire to them so I could make connections to the 16 ga wire which I ran from the breaker to the lights.
I used 1/8" acrylic to cover the lights and used a torch to heat and bend the acrylic
I wonder if the breakers provide enough protection or should I install an inline fuse as well?
