  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' LRC (1975 - 1981)
The rear seal on my port 6-71N is leaking into the Allison M30 transmission. It's now decided to leak enough to over fill the transmission fairly quickly (an hour or so). I don't know if I can run it very far. I am going to Jarrett in Sept. but thats a few hundred miles away. Any idea on bad results from running with the tranny too full? Aside from re-filling the motor.

Any recommendations for DD mechanic North Chesapeake Bay. Not rocket science DD work but huge weight issues.

Thanks

If it fills to the top, as it heats up, he oil will start to spray out the filler cap and make a mess. I had this happen after breaking a fuel line and overfilling my engine crank case with diesel to the point that it worked its way into the tranni. Other than that, mine showed no ill effects. I just changed it a couple times and it has remained clear since.
