I have noticed lately that when I disconnect the hose from my fresh water inlet that drops of water will leak out. I'm assuming that the check valve needs servicing. Any thoughts? And how do I service the check valve? Thxs.

I'm not at the boat, put as i remember it's just a standard 3/4" (i think) check valve. Bill

It may have a pressure regulator. If so make sure you dont over pressurize the sysyem or you will be screwed.

If your fresh water inlet is like mine, the check valve is on deck at the connection you make with the hose adapter. The quick disconnect adapter is shown on the Sam's home page right in front of the 37 cnv Hatt. The deck fitting has a strong spring that you have to force down with the quick connect fitting. If you are leaking there you should be able to get a new one from Sam's. Ron

I tried to dis-assemble one to clean it an ended up replacing it with a standard Perko fitting with a cap. I have another new one for the other side as well. New OEM ones were a killer and so was the adapter that I needed. One has a pipe wrench mark on it and the other is like new. OFFERS? + postage?? ws

My system as a check valve (back flow preventer?) down stream from the deck fitting in the engine compartment before the pressure reducing valve. I'm assuming that it is the type that has a spring loaded "flapper" preventing water from flowing back towards the deck fitting. Guess that I'll just take it apart to clean it or replace the whole thing.
