  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' TRIPLE CABIN (1970 - 1976)
flew down on Friday and left a few hours ago having helped me with a few things on the 41, primarily the AC. As once was said about me, he's not nearly as obnoxious in person as he is behind a keyboard. :D

Seriously, I enjoyed our time together as did my 5 year old. The two of them engineered one hell of a model car ramp on the boat while I was out taking care of a few things.

Thanks for the help "kid", maybe next time we get together I'll be a little less stressed and a bit more fun.

So how many HOFer's have you met so far?

I think most make the trip just to see if you're for real.

I ran through this a few years ago, Lets see:

Wild Bill, Bob Norris
Freebird/sparky-Randy (does this count as 2?)
Boatsb- scott
Kent
67hat-dan
George -former member
Shark-Roger
Jason-Jays Dream
Todd Howard
I also met some from former classic hat site that Mark use to run.
I believe there are a couple of others that i will remember later.

Crap, I dont have a boat anymore so I can meet any more members.

You know where the keys are.

FYI I think you forgot Guzman and a few others

Randy fed me well lol

Made it home no problem....flew threw a couple clouds.

krush, did you fly yourself? Didn't know you were a pilot, I assume VFR with the clouds issue...

Doesn't it always work out that way? I had the same impression and he told me I sound older and fatter on line.

Never met carl in person, talked to him on the phone though.

I've lost count, but it's always been an enjoyable experience. There is no doubt I've made friendships through this forum which will last a lifetime, and to me, that is much more valuable than any technical knowledge I could hope to gain from this forum.

I mean seriously, if I can get a friend to come fix all the broken crap on my boat, why bother with trying to learn all that stuff? :D

So you can come and help me fix mine :)

Think Krush was on the edge of comming down for the trip on freebird a couple of summers ago. I remember sending him PM regarding this and he was about to show.

no no, I flew IFR. Took another short trip yesterday to Rock Hill SC and back...had to deviate a little to avoid some cells.

Longer trips are a pain doing VFR on the east...too many airspaces to worry about. Plus ATC is much nicer and gives more respect to IFR folk.

Oh yeah, some jackass in Rock Hill didn't cancel when they got on the ground and had me holding to get in! Not only that, they took the crew car I was going to use. The FAA had to call the airport to see if the plane was on the ground. As for the car, they let me borrow a maintenance truck. Freakn' morons.....

Yep, that was the first time he and I ever spoke on the phone. Be glad he couldn't make it, otherwise you may have missed out on that 30 hour pleasure cruise to Panama City. Not to mention the bologna sandwiches.
