  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
52' CONVERTIBLE (1983 - 1990)

today received a note from Lenny Beck a broker for United Yacht sales It is the first time i have seen the new boat by Tom unleashed or offered for sale. Tim

Cute? Gorgeous is more like it. I really like the design, and the claimed performance/fuel burn (if even close to real) would be amazing.
Why hasn't Hatt or Viking designed this first? They would sell.

The interior is big; I think that having the engines where they are makes room for another stateroom; this is a four-stateroom boat. Stunning. I hope to see a live one soon.

Wow! Big beautiful boat and less than 2 gal per NM at 30 knots! Plus true joystick control docking and position holding. What does it get doing 10.6 knots hull speed? Maybe 0.5 gal/NM ?

How Much?? I'm guessing $6 mil.

Gorgeous I love the traditional side window shape.

Many similarities to the GT and they did at least one IPS boat.

Interior layouts similar but the arrangement plan I really like in this class is the Hatt 68 Convertible.

We are a lot less than $6 mil lol. Closer to under half of that :D

We had a fresh slate to start with in designing this boat (unlike Hatteras or Viking). It has been perfected over the past few years based on what we hear from other boat owners. We listen to what you guys have to say, which has led to the design of this...

Thank you all for your opinions and comments.

Thanks Tom, always a pleasure to see your work, both real and virtual.

Would love to see her go from paper to the slipway.

Best of luck.

PS. Those fuel burn numbers are extraordinary. I was at marina with a Spencer-built 57 with IPS drives. The skipper raved about the performance, particularly backing down on fish.

Is there one in the water?
The vents are in my 52 and they really look good. They actually stoped the light hase they must have been suffering for the air. You were correct there was dark spots comming around the edge of the carpet and the breathing holes port and starbard with the screen wire was covered with sut. Had to be sucking back into the er room. No wonder the engines stayed dirty. I do not have to clean the air septs as much eather Thanks for the tips Tim Powell the best of luck with the new boat it is quite a BEAUTY!!!!!

Reading the Slane62 site looking for construction details I found the following

The hull, superstructure and other molded parts of the Slane 62 will be built in the same High Point, NC, building and by some of the same craftsmen who built thousands of convertibles and motoryachts under Willis Slane’s watchful eye. Final assembly, systems and finish work are to be carried out at Slane’s existing facility nearby.

Interesting

I will pass these messages along to Tom. I am his son, Thomas (Jr.).

Tim, there is not one currently in the water. We have it completely designed and ready to be built. We are just trying to find a buyer.

I'm probably more excited than anybody to see it make its way from paper to the water.

Hurry up! The sooner you sell one the sooner I can get it after it's 20 years old!

Good luck to Slane Marine on selling these fabulous boats. Looks like the perfect boat to fill slips at the new yacht clubs springing up In Dubai, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. Might be worth bringing this terrific boat to their attention.
