  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' MOTOR YACHT (1984 - 1987)
I'm still crossing my fingers, but after 30 years they both still work fine. We ran them today just keep the parts loosened up. They say the worst thing is not to use it, so here we go. The boat is for sale so here's proof the proof they still work. What's the oldest ones that you know still work? I should start a go fund me site just in case. Then I'll buy news ones. Thanks loyal fans. Ha just kidding.

We have the same 1985 model and its still going strong.

Hi, our 1993 Kenmore Washer/Drier is not working - the washing machine is leaking when I fill it with water. Anyone know if the entire unit can be removed by taking the wooden face trim off? And if yes - how does the forward door trim (we have a 52' Hat) come off? I see no signs of screws and don't want to ruin the trim.

I talked to a old Hatteras employee that told me they disassembled the entire unit and moved it into the master bedroom, then reassembled it and slide it into the cabinet. I had a copper pipe start leaking below the washer and I had to remove the whole unit to gain access. I removed the molding, then the wood panel the door is attached to and slide it out. It was a royal pain !!!.

Hi Pate, how is the moulding to the forward stateroom attached? Nails? I don't see any, and can't find any screws.

Wow we just had our washer and dryer replaced today....took out the old Maytag units they didn't work ...replace them with new compact GE units .....I'm glad I had the boat yard do it they had 3 guys do it an I watched ...it was not something I would want to do....they had the job done in and out in less then 2 hours....we are on a 56' MY......

1979 still going strong. I did replace the hoses last year.

I lost the dryer portion of my original stack Frigidare washer/dryer. Since trying to diagnose the problem would have meant removing it from its hole, I decided that at 28 years old, if I'm going to pull it out, it's leaving. I replaced it with a vertical stacking Bosch Axxis pair. No regrets. It's been awesome for about 8 years now, maybe 9??? I had to bring it in down the forward hatch on the bow. It didn't fit through any doorways, nor did the original unit I removed.

Hi - HOW did they remove it? How was the door frame removed? Did the washer/drier - when pulled out, does it then lift into the rest of the boat for removal? Someone suggested taking it apart, but that's not an option....

On the machine itself, I took apart what I had to and cut what I had to. Only then did it leave the boat through the doors. If you're not trying to save it - cut it up. The new machines came in through the forward hatch. They reside in the forward stateroom, so that was a no-brainer.
