Boat looks better in the pics than in person. She is not too bad, ER looked serviceable. Don't recall hours on the engines. To fish her hard she would do well. Would need some updating below and on bridge for my taste.

Yeah... well, I just want the model Hatteras in one picture, and I'll stick with the big Hatteras that I already own.

This listing is funny- they tell you everything except the brand of engine and the hours. Maybe I missed that part. Seems like you'd want to know it, because they look like 12-92s.

yes they are 1292s.

The engine history was cloudy at best as far as hours and rebuilds go.

The model is fantastic!

It's a huge boat. 5'11" draft and poor fuel economy hurt the model. Price is right if it's clean. Most 58 buyers will go for a 65 instead. Shallower draft and similar in size and performance with the 65 having a better layout, bridge and ER. Most of the 58s have 16V92s which will cruise in the 25kt range @ 1950, if all is in good shape.

I've heard the 65 is faster with the same power.

The 58 Should be faster but the two I looked at weren't. One had 16V92 and only ran 27kts WOT. One engine had 800 hours but the other was tired so I wrote the poor performance to a tired engine.

In my expierience the 1987 through 1993 65's run about the same spped as the 58's. The 1994 through 1999's do seem to be a bit faster then the older 65's and 58's. The reason is in 1994 the cut the keel depth down and I think they also increased the pocket/tunnel size reducing the shaft angle. The Daft stayed about the same though because most of them from what I recall, 1994 and newer also had larger wheels and different transmission ratio's which probably also contributed to the increase in speed. In short, 1994 and newer 65's had less keel, reduced shaft angles and bigger wheels.
