One of multiple such waves one encounters near Mack Isle, when passed by the many ferries (a little exaggeration).

I am very surprised about the craft that were damaged in their slips on the US West Coast, since if you run out to 1/4-1/2 mile from shore, there is hardly any wave to speak of, at least on the US coastline. I am surprised more did not leave their slip (did any?) and stand by off shore, until the Tsunami went by and hit shore. Then head back in.
