A friend who has a 53 is looking to replace one of his Galley Maid heads with one of these because the wife finally put her foot down about the noise of the galley maid. Does anyone know if these are truly quiet and had any experiences with them?

Raritan Atlantes 32 volt X2. If I was going to re-plumb the entire boat (all 3 heads), and I had 24 volt power, and it was wired properly to the inverter along with the fresh water system, and had a second pump plumbed in, I would consider Head Hunter. It is quieter, but possible to lose not one but all 3 at once from a pump, water or power issue. The Raritan uses a small fraction of water compared to the GM, so it effectively seems like your holding tank got bigger. Personally prefer these to vacuflush, also.

i have one of the deluxe heads in my 58yf and it has worked flawlessly for about 6 years. i too was concerned about the electronics, but so for no problem.

oh yeah, it is as quiet as or quieter than a household toilet

I replaced both heads last year with Raritan Elegance. ( www.boatersland.com/rar220 had best price)
I don't really know how they compare noise wise, but I am happy with them so far!
