Just leaving this here so I don't lose all credibility.....

Although it's still very early in the game, tomorrow my lovely bride and I are going to play "Let's torture a broker" and we are actually going to set foot on a for sale Hatt. (first time for her) I will provide further details if/when they become important.

Build a dream about a boat that she would like. My wife was used to comfort. we spend weekends together on the boat each doing what we each liked but we were together. Forget about trying to get her to like what you like.

Your point is well taken.

When we started dating, 30 years ago, I took her on "cruises", including overnights, on Lake Erie on a J-22. Talk about sporting. All we needed was a couple of bottles of red wine, a 5 gallon bucket and each other. A few years later we got married on the back porch of a small but exquisite waterfront restaurant (all ours for the morning) and sailed off into the sunset on our Catalina 30. Since those days we've owned larger and more comfortable boats and have logged thousands and thousands of miles.

At this point in the game we both very much like our comforts. We communicate well enough to make sure the other is not getting the short end of any stick. We spend a lot of time looking at boat porn together on YW. At this point we both want the comfort, speed and space of a motor yacht and are looking forward to owning and enjoying a 53MY or larger. It's gonna be another cruise for the memory books, and possibly our last.

Never has there been a better metric for true love than a 5 gallon bucket.

I mentioned to my wife over dinner I purchased a 58 YF, she now loves it.

I have made major purchases on my own, but I made darn sure I knew it was something she liked. (And had mentioned......once, or twice.... or a few hundred times....like that Denali I brought home ;).....)

Slow down Oscar, no need to rush. Besides I took Quentin and his loving restoration in the pool. Sorry was the pool supposed to be a secret?:)

She liked it. And the yacht club liked us and we're members now. And the charter outfit seems like a good place to get some recent sea time so I can get my OUPV back. And the crab cakes were to die for.

The plan for world domination moves forward.

I admire your initiative and the fact you're still alive to talk about it.

Shit, Oscar, you're going to lose your status as a non-Hatteras owner, here..... you'll be just like the rest of us.

I came to my G friend with a 34 foot Peoquod 19 years ago..
She only knew pontoon boats.
A year later we were both hungry for a larger boat for us.
She moved us on our 58' Bert 2 years later. Our cologne then was ode to diesel when we went back to work the next mornings. You sometimes have to work in da stuff to fill your dreams.

We are planning our next season. My new left hip, new synthetic plumbing and low on kidney stones, were off shortly to chase Capt Flint.

There is nothing better than on board with my wife Josie.
Ships name; JoSea...

You have my address, keep me up and we may be able to help.

Well, that has been the objective all along. Not there yet, but getting closer.

HYSTERICAL! I thought I was the only one. My wife's response was "I hope you sold the Bertram first? Ummmmm. well, not quite yet LOL It went quickly and she loves the Hatt.

Unless be becomes another token "something" owner. :D

And what's wrong with that?
Nothing... as long as you don’t mind sharing your token status. Then again, he could buy a sailbote or something.

Nah, not going to get a sail boat. Had plenty of those, and now want space and speed. Probably have a Laser or something on the roof to play around in the anchorage, and may make a few $$ moving them around for others but not going to own one.

As far as owning another brand....... While I have identified several other boats that would suit our mission profile, none of them check as many boxes as the Hatts, the support on this forum being a HUGE factor.
