  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
37' CONVERTIBLE (1977 - 1982)
Has anyone installed one of these water heaters. It's smaller than its replacement. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if the mixing valve extends the hot water out long enough to get a shower, estimate of shower time would be helpful thanks

I replaced my old leaky one with the Isotemp almost 5 years ago and love it. The mixing valve really works and you use more cold to offset the hotter water. After taking two showers (not rushed) in a row, still plenty of hot water. It takes up less space. Absolutely no problems so far.

They also hold their heat very well, according to a comparison test done in PS a few years back. Please consider plumbing the coolant loop in.

Will definitely plumbing the coolant loop, do you think the spa 15 will be enough for my 37C, just one bath, shower, kitchen sink.

Bring you up to speed with picture from my water heater replacement project.

First picture was the old Atlantic water heater that sprung a leak due to corrosion of the studs that bolt the element in place, yes it was a Stainless tank. I tried to repair it, what a waist of time, 3 weeks of waisted time. Seems that area of the bildge is so hard to get to, no one ever maintained it at all. I can barely squeeze through to the outboard port engine room area. I remove the old tank, scrubbed, sanded painted then installed a new Isotemp Spa series 20l 115v 750 watt water heater. Man does it work good.
