Is David Pascoe Still around?

I read on another forum that he had died a few years back and that all the blogs and opinions on his forum were actually the work of one or several others. If this isn't so, I apologize, but I figured someone on the forum who might know him could speak to this. It doesn't make sense to me to pull this deception, but it seems possible.

I talked to him on the phone a few years ago but that's been quite a while. I notice that his site doesn't seem to have a way to talk to him directly re a possible purchase which USED to be available. He charged x dollars (can't recall) for phone discussions. I got a lot of great info from him about specific boats which greatly influenced my subsequent purchases.

Since that doesn't appear to be available (though maybe I just couldn't find it), it's quite possible that he's no longer with us but I have no knowledge whether that is actually the case. But the fact that the "consulting" and other links that used to take you to info on contacting him by phone no longer work, leads me to believe that either he is no longer around or that he has no active participation in "DH Pascoe & Co" His "biography" is now written in the 3rd person instead of the 1st person, as it used to be...

I know he used to lurk on HOF, probably still does, so I imagine he's getting a good laugh out of this thread.

I spoke with him in 2003 and traded a few emails since. He prefers to write in the third person to avoid being too accessible and getting buried with calls from folks looking for free advice.

It appears Dave is evolving to a fine curmudgen based on his recent writtings. Very negative on politics, the economy, the future.

David Pascoe sounded like he was in the first person when I spoke to him about 9 months ago.

Just because you're a pessimist, does not mean there is not good reason to be pessimistic. I would love to hear a credible explanation that the scope and magnitude of government power and corruption is not alarmingly high or that the general work ethic not dangerously low.

Is entitlement now based upon being productive or simply being?

Very much alive and kicking. He writes largely on economics and the state of the economy on his blog and only frequetly on boating. Pity, as many of us have not given up on our favorite pastime even though the boating industry is in the toilet. Let Pascoe hear from you and encourage him to do more columns on boating. He is still the best when it comes to cutting through all the guff we hear from reviewers paid to say nice things to prospective buyers.
