Recently acaquired ipad2 but unable to use with active captain because apple doesnt support adobe flash---any way around this? Seems useless with google maps since ap on ipad doesnt allow a distance measurement.. How are you computer savvy navigators doing this?

I believe you can run Navimatics Charts series and it will do what you want. I know it works on Active Captain software.

It's $25.00, but that's pretty cheap for integrated software.

Get either navimatic charts n tides or eSeaChart. CT uses vectors but allows you to update AC dat, ESC uses NOAA rasters which I personally prefer but doesn't allow updates and has no track function and is a little slower loading charts

I use both, I really like being able to update data from my phone especially fuel prices when passing a fuel dock or ICW trouble spots instead of writing notes and updating at the end of the day

Between these apps and polarnavy on my laptop I rarely go to the AC site anymore

Isn't that considered 'texting while driving'?? :)

well, i guess... but it's no more distracting than grabing a pad and writing on it! :)

Once again thankyou...this site has once again eased my search for boating solutions and y'all are very much appreciated. I am going to download the Navimatics ap today.
