  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
52' COCKPIT MY (1990 - 1999)
Earlier today I asked a question about shore power cables and then realized I had jumped into the forum without properly introducing myself. I'm the owner of a "new to me" 1991 Hatteras 52 CMY that will soon be renamed TANGO. I acquired her in the Hampton Roads area and just brought her down the ICW to New Bern, NC. She'll be there for the winter and then I hope to move her closer to my home in Beaufort, NC. I'm a retired U.S. Navy aviator. Served for 29 years in various flying, staff and shipboard billets. My wife and I are looking forward to traveling the ICW both north and south from NC. We have a daughter in Charleston, SC so that could become a major layover location. My boating history is in sailboats and of course a few tours on big flat top vessels. I look forward to tapping into the vast Hatteras experience of the forum members. Stay well!

Thank you for your service, welcome and congrats on Tango! Lots of very knowledgeable and helpful people on this site. A few aviation geeks as well.

Welcome to the asylum, and what did you fly? I'm a huge fan of naval aviation. My dad used to drop test Tomcats for carrier landings, and I always aspired to drive one. Alas, in the day one's eyesight had to be super prefect, and instead of my father's 20/15 vision I inherited my mother's. But I still try to live vicariously through the flying exploits of others.

Congrats and welcome to the club. We have a great bunch of folks here with a wealth of knowledge and if I remember correctly a few vets as well. Thank you for your service.

Welcome and thank you for your service Sir. Best of luck with your new Hatteras. I’m sure you will fall in love with her as we all have. Reach out anytime.

Thank you for your service, and good luck with the new ride. Welcome to the stinkpot club. :p

Welcome to the club! I, too, have traded a Government-funded aircraft for a self-funded boat. Next time you make it up to Hampton Roads...

Welcome. Just retired myself from 34 years of burning massive amounts of jet fuel, although not paid for by the government.

Congrats on Tango and picking a 52CMY. I purchased my 1990 52CMY (MV BREAKAWAY) summer of 2019 and enjoying. I enjoyed 24 years in the USN--mostly at Oceana and Pax River. Hope we can meet up sometime to enjoy some stories, a pint or two, and lessons learned on our boats. My prior boat was a Hunter 44AC sailboat based out of Baltimore and Solomon's Island. I'm just getting started on this forum myself as I work to outfit Breakaway for for cruising the ICW and Islands.
If you're interested, send me a PM. I'm just learning how to use this great forum myself!
