  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' YACHT FISHERMAN (1970 - 1981)
Was looking around for davits to buy/install on my boat and saw this:

www.Dinghysling.com

Looks like a simple, cost effective, non rusting, quick deployment idea.

Has anyone ever used or seen these before, and if so what would be the down side of using something like this?

Never seen anything quite like that! Maybe for a very small light weight dink it could work but sure doesn't look suitable for a RIB with outboard. For smaller RIBs I have used the Weaver Davit System with reasonable success. They keep things "ridged" when underway and are fairly simple. Stainless steel so rust not an issue.

I like it, simple and secure, obviously for fairly small dinks though

The only concern is that I don't see how the the net will stay out open while you move the dink in. Sure, it will work in calm conditions but as soon as the boat swings the net will not stay put long enough and tangle up

I too struggled with this and bought the dinghy caddy. Installed under three grand. We have a 9'6" RIB with a 15 four stroke We are going to use with it. Not for rough water but For where We are going to be seems quick and easy.

Install happening now will advise how it works in late August
