installing Fuel Polisher

I am wondering when i instll the fuel lines to the Fuel Polisher in front of the Hurricane II heater wher i should place the return line? I think i need to make sure i can divert the fuel either to the return or to the fuel polisher line. Not sure yet as i have yet to get back to the boat for a good amount of time since the baby arrived but we move aboard again the the 30th.
